ABOUT THE POEM
тАЬThe earth has music for those who will listen”……George Santayana
This poem is about the poetтАЩs desire to stay lonely in a small cabin near the Lake Isle of Innisfree. He wants to build the cabin with clay and wattles, and grow nine rows of beans. He also mentions that he wants to place a honey hive outside his cabin to hear the mesmerizing humming and buzzing sound of bees.
He further describes the peaceful natural scene of the cloudy mornings, the shining stars, the glowing Sun, and birds flying into the deep sky. He says that it gives him peace. He feels relaxed to hear the pleasant sound of the cricketтАЩs song.
Also, he badly wants to visit the surroundings of Lake Isle, due to his urge to live in the calm and peaceful lap of nature, away from the fast-paced furious life of the city. He also expresses his extreme desire by saying that he can hear the sound of a lake everywhere, either on the crowded roads or the greyтАУcoloured pavements of the city in which he lives.
