Speech

Foundation Level:

  1. To introduce learners to the basic sounds, grammar rules, vocabulary, and sentence structures of the English language.
  2. To help learners develop their speaking skills through pronunciation and intonation practice.
  3. To improve learners’ ability to understand and respond to simple questions and conversations.
  4. To build learners’ confidence in using English in everyday situations.
  5. To introduce basic writing skills, such as sentence formation, basic grammar, and simple vocabulary.

Intermediate Level:

  1. To expand learners’ vocabulary and knowledge of idioms, phrasal verbs, and common expressions.
  2. To develop learners’ ability to understand and respond to more complex questions and conversations.
  3. To improve learners’ fluency, accuracy, and confidence in spoken English through exercises and discussions.
  4. To improve learners’ listening and comprehension skills through a variety of listening activities and exercises.
  5. To help learners develop their writing skills through exercises in paragraph and essay writing, vocabulary building, and grammar.

Advanced Level:

  1. To refine learners’ pronunciation, intonation, and accent to a near-native level.
  2. To enhance learners’ ability to participate in advanced discussions, debates, and presentations in English.
  3. To improve learners’ comprehension of different accents, dialects, and styles of English spoken around the world.
  4. To help learners develop advanced writing skills, such as writing for different audiences and purposes, using advanced grammar and vocabulary, and organizing and structuring longer pieces of writing.
  5. To help learners prepare for standardized English proficiency exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge exams.

Module 1: General English Phonetics and Phonology

Unit-1 Speech Sounds IPA: Selected Speech Sounds and Practice, Minimal Unit, Vowels, Consonants, Diphthongs.

Unit-2 English Phonology and Morphology: Consonant clusters, Vowel clusters, formation of new words, and their rule

Unit-3 Voice Modulation: stressed and unstressed syllables, Mount peak words in a sentence, Intonation

Unit-4 Reading and speaking practice

Unit-5 Most commonly mispronounce English words and Practice

Module 2 : Foundation Course (Formation of Sentence)

Building Block Of Language: Words categories

Formation of the Sentence: Use of be verb (is am are was were)

Application of Learned Vocabularies: Conversation, Game activities, describing pictures, Surveys, Interviews, filling forms, etc.

Unit-2 ( Present Tense)

Concept and Meaning: List of verbs, types of verbs, Use of verbs in a sentence

Reading and Paragraph writing: Reading comprehension, Paragraph writing, video interpretation, Picture interpretation

Listening and Speaking: Listening comprehension, Most common phrases and expressions used in Present Tense Discussion, conversation, opinion, likes and dislikes.

Unit-3 (Past Tense)

Concept and Meaning: List of verbs, types of verbs, Use of verbs in a sentence

Reading and Paragraph writing: Reading comprehension, Paragraph writing, video interpretation, Picture interpretation

Listening and Speaking: Listening comprehension, Discussion, Storytelling, Personal Past Experience, and Past Experience of others.

Unit-4 (Future Tense)

Concept and Meaning: List of verbs, types of verbs, Use of verbs in a sentence

Reading and Paragraph writing: Reading comprehension, Paragraph writing, video interpretation, Picture interpretation

Listening and Speaking: Listening Comprehension, Most Common Phrases and expressions used in the future tense, Discussion, Talking about Future plans, Thinking about our life in the future, Thinking about the climate in the future, Most common expressions and phrases used in the future tense.

Module 3: Modals , Conditionals and Conjunctions: Use and Usage

Unit- 1: Permission, Possibility, Necessity

Reading and writing: Comprehension, writing paragraphs, Suggestions, and advice to your younger Games activity.

Listening and Speaking: Videos (Instructions and Conditions), Activities of categorization, and Giving advice and suggestions to younger people. Commonly used expressions and phrases.

Unit-2 Order, Request, Polite request

Reading and writing: Use of authentic materials like letters and applications, writing letters for request

Listening and Speaking: Videos

Unit-3 Basic Conditional Sentence, Hypothetical Sentence

Reading and writing: Use of authentic materials for reading comprehension, writing paragraphs and opinions.

Listening Speaking: Videos, Speaking Activities, games.

Unit-4 Conjunctions or Linkers, Types, and Use

Reading and writing: reading comprehension, writing paragraphs, practice.

Listening and Speaking: Activities and practice, Interviews discussion etc.

Module 4: Learning Vocabulary and its Use in conversation

Unit-1 Describing Person and Personality: Negative, Positive, manners, action, skills-related words

Activities: compliments, feedback, and comments. Judging any events, Anchring. Moderating events, etc.

Unit-2 Describing place, events, festivals, accidents, incidents, situations, feelings/emotions, etc.

Unit-4 Kitchen-related vocabulary, Shopping, Hospitals, disease, Airports, Transports, Clothes/garments, men’s wear, women’s wear, money, etc.

Module 5: Situational and Functional English

Unit-1 Asking, offering, thanking, wishing, suggesting, appreciating, welcoming, etc.

Unit- 2 Asking directions, talking to strangers, having conversations at restaurants, To travel agents, At the bank, etc

Unit-3 Telephonic conversation: with customer care, with friends, with the boss, with an unknown person, Online order for food, Online inquiry, online Hotel Booking, etc.

Unit-4 Sharing past experience: Childhood, Schooling, Old friends, School teachers, First experience with someone (Hostel friends, meeting with famous people, colleagues, teacher, students, unknown people in a new city, etc. ) or something (Book, film car bike, etc.)
