Future Continuous Tense

The Future Continuous Tense is used to indicate an action going on over a period of time in the future.

Use of Future Progressive(continuous) Tense. 

 We use Future Progressive(continuous) Tense-

1.To denote an action that is likely to happen. 

Example-

  1. My elder brother will be buying a story book for me. 

2.To indicate an action which is the result of а routine.

Example-

  1. The doctor will be attending to his patients now. He is always available in the evening. 

Affirmative Sentence

Subject+Will/Shall+Be+Verb+ing+Object+Place+Time.

Examples

  1. She will be singing a song.
  2.  (वह गाना ग रही होगी।)
  3. We shall be preparing for the examination. 
  4. I shall be writing a letter to my brother. 

Note. In Future Progressive tense we use Shall with “I and WE”.(Example NO.2&3) 

Except ” I and WE” with All Nouns we use Will. (Example NO.1) 

Negative Sentence

Subject+Will/Shall+Not+Be+Verb+ing+Object+Place+Time.

Examples. 

  1. She will not be singing a song. 
  2. (वह गाना नहीं गा रही होगी। )
  3. We shall not be preparing for the examination. 
  4. I shall not be writing a letter to my brother. 

Interrogative Sentence.

Will/Shall+Subject+Not+Be+Verb+ing+Object+place+Time.

Examples

  1. Will she not be singing a song? 
  2. (क्या वह गाना नहीं गा रही होगी?)
  3. Shall we not be preparing for the examination? 
  4. Shall I not be writing a letter to my brother?

Main Interrogative Sentence

Quest.Word+Will/Shall+Subject+Not+Be+Verb+ing+Object+place+Time.

Examples

  1. Why will she not be singing a song? 
  2. (वह गाना क्यूँ नहींगा रही होगी ?)
  3. How shall we be preparing for the examination? 
  4. When shall I not be writing a letter to my brother?

Reading Comprehension

Tomorrow afternoon, the ship will be sailing to Antarctica. The sailors are going to be working very hard when the ship sails. Some sailors will be pulling ropes on the sails. Others are going to be watching for icebergs. The captain will be navigating the ship while it is sailing.

When the ship arrives at its destination, some sailors will be resting. Others will be repairing the ship. The captain will be exploring the land. His assistant will be drawing a map of the land on the ship.

Exercise -1 Answer the Following Questions

  1. Where will the ship be sailing? 
  2. Who is going to be working very hard? 
  3. What will some sailors be pulling on the sails? 
  4. What will the captain be doing? 
  5. Who will be exploring the land? 

Exercise-2 Reading the following passage carefully and Frame Question

Tomorrow, there will be a parade. At the beginning of the parade, the mayor will be marching by his carriage. The horse will be pulling the carriage and the mayor will be waving to the crowd. The crowd will be waving when the mayor passes by. Shyam and his grandfather will be standing in front of the store when the mayor passes them. Shyam and his grandfather will be watching and waving. Everyone will be having a good time at the parade.

Exercise-3 Read this passage Carefully and Frame Questions-

Mr Amit will be arriving at 3 o’clock today. When Mr. Amit arrives, the servants will be waiting. Sohan will also be waiting at the door. When Mr. Amit will be walking into the house, most of the servants will be bowing to him. One servant will be parking the car. Others will be preparing for dinner. Three servants will be decorating the table.

Translate the following sentences into Hindi. 

  1. You will be learning this poem. 
  2. She will be cooking food. 
  3. We shall be playing football. 
  4. I shall be reading a Hindi newspaper. 
  5. The children will be eating toffee. 
  6. I shall not be going to this college. 
  7. We shall not be winning the match. 
  8. She will not be bringing a cup of hot coffee. 
  9. The teacher will not be teaching my brother. 
  10. This little girl will not be going to school at this time tomorrow. 
  11. Will he be writing an essay? 
  12. Shall I not be bathing in this deep river. 
  13. Will the father be buying toys for me? 
  14. Will the children not be quarreling with one another?
  15. Shall I not be going to market with my father? 
  16. Why will you not be doing this work? 
  17. Where will he be living now? 
  18. How shall I be going to crossing the river? 
  19. Which book will the boy be reading? 
  20. What will you not be doing in the evening? 

Translate the Following Sentences into English

  1. मैं उस समय पढ़ रहा हूँगा।
  2. हम कल अलीगढ़ जा रहे होंगे।
  3. राम का भाई वहाँ खेल रहा होगा।
  4. ये लड़कियाँ कल गंगाजी में स्नान कर रही होगी।
  5. वे लड़के कक्षा में शोर मचाते रहेंगे।
  6. मैं कल क्रिकेट नहीं खेल रहा हूँगा।
  7. हम कल इस पार्क में नहीं टहल रहे होंगे।
  8. तुम्हारे भाई अगले वर्ष इस नगर में नहीं रहे होंगे।
