Speaking Activity: Public Announcement
Instruction for Conduction Activity
- Divide students into groups based on transportation modes (metro, bus, flight, etc.) and assign them public announcements to practice.
- Each group role-plays with one student as the announcer and others as passengers, delivering announcements like in real transport scenarios.
- Advise students to focus on clear pronunciation and appropriate tone while making announcements.
- Encourage creativity by allowing students to simulate real-life scenarios such as delays or emergencies to make the activity more engaging.
Important: Arrange A microphone If possible
Metro/Train:
- “The next station is [Station Name]. Please mind the gap between the train and the platform.”
- “Doors are closing. Please stand clear.”
- “Please give up your seat to those in need.”
- “This train terminates at [Station Name].”
- “For your safety, please stand behind the yellow line.”
- “Please do not lean against the doors.”
- “Eating and drinking are not allowed in the train.”
- “Emergency alarms are for emergencies only. Misuse may lead to fines.”
- “Please keep your belongings safe and close to you.”
- “Kindly allow passengers to alight before boarding.”
Bus:
- “Next stop: [Stop Name]. Please prepare to alight.”
- “Please do not stand near the exit doors.”
- “Seats are reserved for the elderly, pregnant women, and passengers with disabilities.”
- “For your safety, please remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.”

Local Train:

Emergency Announcement
Metro/Train:

- “Please evacuate the train using the nearest exit. Follow the emergency lighting to the platform.”

Bus:
