Future Perfect Continuous[Progressive] Tense

Affirmative Sentence

Subject+Will/Shall+Have+Been+Verb(first form)+ing+Object+Since/For+Time.

Examples-

  1. He will have been playing cricket for two hours.
  2. I shall have been writing a story  since Monday.
  3. We shall have been writing an essay since ten o’clock.
  • Note-We use Shall with I and We.{see example NO.2&3}

            and will with all nouns.{see example NO.1}

  • How to use Since and For?

We use Since and For to mention the time.

SINCE is used when time mentioned in the sentence is Certain..{see example NO.2 & 3}

FOR is used when time mentioned in the sentence is not Certain..{see example NO.1}

Point of Time=> 3 o’clock,10 AM, Sunday,June,2019, Yesterday,Tomorrow, Morning,Birth etc.

Period of Time=> Two hours,Four months,Five years, etc.

Negative Sentence

Subject+Will/Shall++Not+Have+Been+Verb(first form)+ing+Object+Since/For+Time.

Examples-

  1. He will not have been playing cricket for two hours.
  2. I Shall not have been writing a story since Monday.
  3. We shall not have been writing an essay since ten o’clock.

Interrogative  Sentence

Shall/Will+Subject+Not+Have+Been+Verb(first form)+ing+Object+Since/For+Time.

Examples-

  1. Will he not have been playing cricket for two hours?
  2. Shall I have been writing a story since Monday?
  3. Shall we have been writing an essay since ten o’clock?

Main Interrogative  Sentence

Question Word+Shall/Will+Subject+Not+Have+Been+Verb(first form)+ing+Object+Since/For+Time.

Examples-

  1. Why will he not have been playing cricket for two hours?
  2. Where shall I have been writing a story since Monday?
  3. How shall we have been writing an essay since ten o’clock?

Rocky and Sohan are going on a sleigh ride to their friend’s house for the weekend. The snow will be deep, but their horse is very strong. They are going to travel a long way. They will have been riding in the sleigh for over an hour by the time they arrive.

Rocky’s horse, Jhabra, will pull the sleigh over the snow. When they arrive, Jhabra will be tired because he will have been pulling the sleigh for over an hour. Jhabra will need food and rest because he will have been pulling the sleigh over all that snow.

Although the work is difficult,Vicky enjoys his job. In August, he will have been working as a window washer for 5 years. He will have been washing windows in this city for the past 5 years.
